Amrize grows in the second quarter on data centre demand
Revenue reached 3.49 billion dollars, up 8.6 per cent, and net profit rose 14.4 per cent. The operating margin, however, fell by 0.8 points because of more expensive petroleum products.
Amrize closed the second quarter with revenue of 3.49 billion dollars, equal to 2.84 billion francs at current rates. That is growth of 8.6 per cent compared with the same period a year earlier.
Net profit rose by 14.4 per cent to 476 million dollars. Adjusted EBITDA grew by 5.8 per cent to 986 million. The quarterly dividend is unchanged at 11 cents per share.
Chief executive Jan Jenisch attributes the revenue expansion to demand for large-scale projects. The sectors named are data centres, infrastructure and energy. Price increases also contributed significantly.
The margin thins out
Not all the indicators point the same way. The operating margin came in at 28.0 per cent, down 0.8 percentage points.
The company attributes the decline to more expensive petroleum products, which weigh on operating costs. That is why profit is growing faster than margins.
The same divergence appears in the guidance for the whole of 2026. Amrize has raised its revenue estimate, now expected between 12.5 and 12.7 billion dollars. It has lowered its adjusted EBITDA estimate, given as 3.1 to 3.2 billion, again because of higher costs.
Amrize is a company within the Holcim group, created in 2023. Its corporate headquarters are in Zug and its operational headquarters in Chicago, and it is listed both in Switzerland and in New York.
The company employs 19,000 people. It serves commercial, residential and infrastructure construction in North America, with a presence in every US state and every Canadian province.
