Vallemaggia Magic Blues closes with two evenings at Maggia

The Vallemaggia Magic Blues is drawing to a close. The final two evenings take place at the Ronchini in Maggia, on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 August. The concerts begin at 9pm.

On Wednesday the main stage belongs to Larissa Baumann. The singer won the Blues Music Awards Switzerland 2025 and is counted among the voices of the new Swiss music scene. Her repertoire brings together soul, blues, funk and rock'n'roll. She has worked with Jeff Turner, Toni Vescoli and Nicolas Senn. In 2014 she won the prize for best solo performance at the Spring Festival in Pyongyang.

The evening is opened by Take The 55, led by Andy Boller. The group plays blues and sounds from the American South, and includes Felix Hohl and Lo Trottmann, the latter having performed alongside Johnny Cash.

Eric Steckel's guitar

Thursday belongs to Eric Steckel. The American guitarist released his first record as a boy and joined John Mayall's Bluesbreakers at eleven, the youngest guitarist in the line-up. Over twenty-three years of career he has played in more than thirty countries and shared the stage with Ray Charles, B.B. King, Steve Vai and Johnny Winter.

The opening is entrusted to Sideburn. The Lausanne hard rock band has twenty-five years of activity behind it and draws inspiration from AC/DC and ZZ Top. In the past it has opened concerts for Kiss and Motörhead.

The festival thus keeps to the formula that defines it, with international names alongside Swiss groups in a valley far from the major concert circuits. For the Ticino public these are the last two occasions of this edition.
