The civic list 6535 Insieme won all four seats on Roveredo's municipal executive in Sunday's local elections. The Swiss People's Party (SVP) therefore fails to enter the executive.

The SVP candidate, Aurelio Troger, president of the local patrician commune, received 240 votes. The result was not enough to secure a seat on the executive. For the party, the candidacy was an attempt to regain representation in the executive, four years after the 6535 Insieme list had already won every seat.

Elected for the 2027-2030 term were Giovanni Cadlini with 388 votes, Auro Lunghi with 373, Daniele Succetti with 329 and Simone Giudicetti with 279. All four belong to the 6535 Insieme list.

The position of mayor had already been assigned earlier, through a tacit election, to Decio Cavallini, until then deputy mayor. Sunday's vote thus completed the composition of the municipal executive for the next four-year term.

The debate over local governance

Ahead of the election, debate had focused on political oversight and the commune's financial management. The SVP had criticised the lack of an organised opposition under the current arrangement. Raveglia and Cavallini had instead defended the cross-party character of the 6535 Insieme list. Groups and individual citizens also took part in the debate, while an anonymous flyer had called for a blank-ballot protest vote.

The SVP did however secure a seat on the auditing committee, where Troger was elected with 204 votes, alongside Giovanni Duca, who received 365, and Mauro Bigolin, who received 224, both members of the 6535 Insieme list.

Turnout for the executive vote stood at 35.74%. Of 1,679 eligible voters, 600 ballots were cast, 49 of them blank. A similar rate was recorded for the election of the auditing committee, where 65 ballots were blank.
